This Blog Is About My New Blog

Posted in Uncategorized on October 22, 2009 by fearkiller

Okay, so the first post of the new blog is up.  It’s called This Blog Is About Otaku and it’s… well, it’s about Otaku.

To be otaku is to be obsessed with a hobby or some form of media.  Here in the states, to be otaku would mean that y

ou were the nerdiest of the nerdy about something.  For example, I’m what would be called an anime otaku.  There are other forms of otaku as well.  There’s manga otaku (comic books), cosplay otaku (people who dress up as anime and manga characters) and video otaku.  This is definitely a short list here.  There are many more forms of otaku.

But anyway, check it out.  I’ll be looking for you.

This Blog Is About Other Blogs

Posted in blogging on October 21, 2009 by fearkiller

I was just sitting here in front of my laptop… just sitting… not even surfing, just sitting and feeling that sense of dread that always seems to come over me whenever I try to make a major change in my life.  If you’re wondering, that sense of dread is the fear of failure.  And I feel it just before I decide to do something I’m afraid to do.

What am I afraid to do?  Glad you asked.  I’m afraid to write a blog post.

Stop laughing.  I know that at this moment I’m writing a blog post right now.  This is how I’m overcoming the fear.  But this post isn’t about fighting the fear, that’s another post.  This post is about other blogs.  Namely mine.

I’ve finally figured out that just putting in the title, “This Blog Is About…” whatever isn’t gonna cut it too well.  I want readers and subscribers and a way to ethically make money online so I can quit my shitty job at Starbucks, (Just kidding Mr. Shultz!)  Seriously, I want to work online so I can get up at noon and after my prayer and meditation, (Shut up!  I do so!) I can fire up ol’ laptoppy and get to work by moving from the bed to the desk.  Not even a full step.

I figure that in order to do that I have to pick a little more focused topic than this blog.  I gotta blog on a niche, dammit.

But what to write on?  Obviously I can write on things that I’m good at or I’m really interested in, like…

  • Anime
  • Manga
  • Otaku culture in general
  • Comic books
  • Movies
  • Customer service (believe it or not, my people pleasing behavior has a place in this world
  • 12 step addiction programs
  • My views on God and Spirituality
  • Article writing
  • Nerd culture (See Otaku) and…
  • Other stuff I can’t think of.

So I decided to start another blog about Otaku since I’m on a Japanese pop culture kick and keep this one whenever I have some random bs to say.  I even have a title.  It’s called This Blog Is About Otaku and as soon as it’s up and running I’ll let you know when to check it out.

Wish me luck, okay?

This Blog Is About Racism In Denial

Not in Tangipahoa Parish!

I’m pretty pissed, so you might wanna send the kids into another room.

A Louisiana Justice of the Peace has denied an interacial couple a marriage license because and I quote: “My main concern is for the children.”

Seriously?  I haven’t heard that argument against interracial marriage since the eighties.  I mean I just thought it sorta… died out.

Keith Bardwell, a magistrate in Tangihapoa Parish, claims that he’s not racist because he performs ceremonies for black people in his own house.  Trust me, I know from experience that tolerating blacks (or any other race,) is not the same as accepting blacks (or any other race,) as equal.

My man Keith goes on to say that black nor white society accepts the offspring of an interracial couple, (Offspring? What are we, fucking housepets?) and that interracial marriages are unstable.  Ah stereotypes, where would we be without you?  Without generalizations how would we know what to believe?

Oh, and by the way, since when do you have to be married to fuck? Not being hitched isn’t a form of contraception, you know.  Not a very good one anyway.

I suspect that someone’s trying to take our minds off the Gay Marriage issue.  Not gonna work buddy.  Now I’m twice as mad.  All people on this planet are human.  All humans have rights.  Everybody is fundamentally equal.  To say that you treat all people equally then commit an illegal act like not allowing two people who look slightly different to marry means that you believe that you believe you are better than us.  That skin color matters.  That mixed race children have it worse than other supposed “purebred” children.

How is it that liberals are called Nazis?

My two beautiful, intelligent nieces are of mixed race.  I hate to break your little sympathy-fest for the poor l’il half-breeds, Keith, ol’ buddy but they get along with their classmates, and nobody runs up to my sister and her husband and berate them for procreating.  My brother in law would lay the smack down on them if they did, but mostly nobody does it because most people aren’t mint julep sippin’, nigger hangin’ , plantation owner descendant bein’ racists like you.

Oh, I’m sorry, was I showing you in a stereotypical light?

How’s that feel, dick?

This Blog Is About The Worlds Greatest Affirmation

Posted in Uncategorized on October 12, 2009 by fearkiller

As mentioned in a previous post, I occasionally write the odd article to satisfy my cigarette and porn habit.  This one might be the oddest of all.  However I can vouch for it’s validity since it’s helped me on a number of occasions.  This article is about the Greatest Affirmation In The World.

Don’t tell me I’m not a positive role model.

If you like your positiveness (positivity?) along the more traditional lines, try this article by Randy Martin.  I don’t know if this one works but it resonates with me so I’ll try it.

Oh, and if you want some good recorded affirmations, try here.

This Blog Is NOT About Zombieland… But It Still Has Zombies In It.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , on October 6, 2009 by fearkiller

Did you think Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were done with Zombies?  According to the Zombie Research Society’s Blog it just ain’t so.  It reminds me of this argument my roommate and I constantly had about the upcoming Zombie Apocalypse.Click here to see why Slow Zombies suck and Fast Zombies... well... don't.

Lets face it, Dave isn’t Woody Harrelson and I damn sure ain’t no Ving Rhames but I think I proved my point effectively enough.

This Blog Is About Zombieland

Okay, getting off the anime subject for a quick sec I saw Zombieland yesterday and it must be said that it is the funniest, goriest, zomedy I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen both of them.  All three if you can count Zombie Strippers which I say you can’t.  If “Zomedy” equals “Zombie Comedy,” shouldn’t the supposed Zomedy be at least a little funny?  (Who the hell told Jenna Jameson that she should have picked that vehicle to enter mainstream cinema?)

Every one of the main characters was a hoot but the one who should get the award for “Best Asshole with a pair of lawn shears” should go to my man Woody Harrelson.  I ain’t gay but if I was I’d be his butt pirate.  Sarah, of What Sarah Said almost changed my sexual preference with the picture she posted on this post but fortunately I was able to keep my manliness in check.  If it’d been a nude I’d be in trouble.

Still with the anime subject; I’ve been looking around the net for new and different things to write about.  Even if it’s just to keep in the habit of blog posting.  Here’s a blog that looks like it may have posted some DVD extras for Pandora Hearts.

I’m assuming it’ll be taken down for Copyright Infringement.  Check it out before it’s gone.

What This Blog Might Be About…

Posted in anime, Uncategorized with tags , on September 26, 2009 by fearkiller

So I’m thinking… trying to anyway… about what this blog might be about and I figured, “Well, maybe I should think about what I like.”  Trouble is, what I like today might just be something I hate tomorrow.

But there is one thing, one like I’ve had ever since I was a wee lad… and that’s anime.  From my first time seeing that awfully dubbed Speed Racer, I’ve loved it.  Now that there’s access to even better anime with subtitles, I can watch to my hearts content.

On my off hours I write articles to keep me in smokes and porn.  Like this one, which describes in poor detail different types of anime and what demographic they’re geared for.  If you want to read a much better article check this one out by Smithy over at Big Blue Wave.

Seriously… What’s This Blog About Anyway?

Posted in Uncategorized on September 26, 2009 by fearkiller

Have you ever felt so intensely about something that you knew that you’d be doing it or something like it for the rest of your life?

Yeah, me neither.

I don’t know what I’m doing here, man.  I thought that maybe I’d create this awesome blog that everybody who came upon it would comment on and share with other bloggers and say cool shit about me but let’s face it.  It’s a tough blogosphere out there and I’m just a small fish in a pond full of sharks.

But I keep trying.  It’s a strong possibility that I may keep doing things like this until Armageddon and possibly beyond.

So sit back and read some pretty cool crap, as well as some pretty crappy crap and let’s see if we can get through this without any blood being shed…

Authors update: yes this is the exact same thing you read in the “About This Blog” page.  Face it.  I’m the kinda guy who milks anything good from everything he can so get off my back.
